Use your non-starting weapons on every walls of item rooms to spot secrets, then blank the elevator and shop before leaving a floor. If you opened a chest and got the passive item, it may not be worth spending a key on a lowlevel second chest if you already have good guns. If the boss drop keys or items, that could influence what you buy or open. Remember to hunt for secrets, and consider opening chests at the end of the floor if you can take on the boss with your loadout. There's no point in sitting on your potions and bombs if they can be used to clear crowded rooms or save you a few hearts. that way you can easily switch from your weapon of choice into two side weapons without thinking too much mid-fight.ĭon't be afraid to use items! During longer fights and rooms, they'll recharge fast. If you like one gun and two side-guns, drop all three, pick the sidegun, the good gun and the other sidegun. Come in with your good gun, clear key targets, and from there you can switch to lesser weapons and finish off waves.ĭon't be afraid to drop guns and pick them up to manage the order they are on.

A banana is terrible at finishing off single enemies, but is a great opening move for example. Some weapons make for poor drawn-out choices, but are incredible at opening a fight. Resource management is key, as are quick reflexes, wits and weapon choice.
